The hydraulic flip gate is a water conservancy facility that achieves automatic water level regulation through the balance of hydraulic force and self-weight, primarily used for blocking or discharging water flow control in reservoirs, rivers, and other locations.
Core Principle
Utilizing a lever balance and rotation mechanism, when the upstream water level rises, the gate gradually opens around the pivot to release flow; when the water level drops, it automatically closes to store water, maintaining the set water level range through the balance of hydraulic force and gravitational torque.
Structural Types
Flip Gate
Initially designed as a horizontal-axis double-hinge type, it has since evolved into multi-hinge types, roller linkage types (to reduce vibration), slider types, etc., supporting automatic opening and closing.
Steel Dam
Employing bottom-axis drive technology, it achieves 0-90 degree opening and closing through a hydraulic system, suitable for river regulation and supporting single-span applications of over 60 meters.
